July 4th weekend, my boyfriend and I spend the week at Provincetown, Cape Cod. It's one of his favorite locations and wants to own a beach home there someday. It was my first time visiting this New England gem, and I was looking forward to get away from the hustle and bustle of New York City. We had a deck with a BBQ, that allowed us to grill up some steak kabobs and chicken wings.
The town is very quiet during the day, but becomes very lively at night. The shops are really cute, everyone had floral picket fences with gorgeous homes. We took a day trip out to Nantucket and had a bike excursion through some of the more remote parts. The landscape and scenery were definitely one of a kind. Relaxed, calm, and very "New England".
After the fireworks, we stood in a long line to get these Portuguese Fried Dough desserts (video). They were all basically hand fried by this older gentleman. The line was out the door. It tasted like a hot fried donut with crispy sugar coating.
One of our most memorial meals that we had was at the Mews. The lobster risotto was the best risotto I've ever had. My eyeballs flipped back into my head, it was like eating clouds. I was describing it as "heavenly." Don't think I've ever described ANYTHING heavenly before.
